  • Are there other ways to send in my documents?

    The easiest way to submit the required supporting documents is by using the Document Upload website. You may also submit your documents via fax or email using the information below. Remember to write your reference number on all your documents.

  • How can I reduce the size of the file I am uploading?

    You can upload files up to 10MB in size. Larger files will take more time to upload. To reduce the size of the documents, you can:
    1. Scan or create the file in grayscale instead of color.
    2. Reduce the dots per inch (dpi) of a scanned image. 200 dpi should be large enough for your image to read.

  • What is the maximum size allowed for upload?

    The maximum size for a single file is 10MB. The maximum size for a submission is 30MB. Please note that larger files will take longer to upload.

  • What file types can be uploaded?

    The following file types can be uploaded: BMP, GIF, JPEG, JPG, PDF, PNG and TIF. Please make sure files are saved with the correct file extension

  • Who can access the site to upload documents to American Express?

    Depending on the status of your Card application, you will be provided access to this site if your Card application has been conditionally approved or if it requires additional documentation before approval. You may submit the required supporting documents to American Express by uploading them via this site.

  • What if I need technical assistance uploading the documents?

    The answers to most common questions can be found within these FAQs. Please read them carefully in order to quickly resolve any issues you may encounter.

  • How do I know if my files reach American Express?

    Please be sure to click the 'Finish' button after attaching all your files. You will be directed to a confirmation page once your files are uploaded successfully. Files that are not submitted will be lost upon closing the browser window and you will have to upload any file(s) again.

    Proof of ID - Certified

    • One of the following forms of photo identification:
      • New Zealand Driver License
      • Valid Passport
      • NZ Firearms License
      OR

      One of the following primary forms of non-photo identification:
      • New Zealand Full Birth Certificate
      • Foreign Birth Certificate
      • Citizenship Certificate
      In combination with a secondary form of photo identification:
      • HANZ 18+ Card
      • Valid and Current International Driving License
    • Please note that all documents must be certified. The certifier must sight and state that the documents are a true copy of the original and represent a legal form of identification for you.
      The following individuals can certify your documents:
      • Justice of the peace
      • Lawyer
      • Chartered Accountant
      • Registered medical doctor
      The trusted certifier cannot be:
      • Related to you in any way
      • Your spouse or partner
      • A person who lives at the same address as you
      The certifier must include the following:
      • Their full name
      • Occupation
      • Signature
      • Date of Certification
